It's 3 a.m. on September 1st, 2025. I finally lay down on the warm bed after a tiring and anxious night. The heavy rain in Angeles still hasn't stopped.
Just now, I received help from a young couple from Magalang. They helped me get home from Marquee Mall in the rain.
My motorcycle died in the flood near Pandan and wouldn't start. My little dog, Jinbao, was pitifully getting wet in the rain. I pushed the motorcycle slowly forward. Suddenly, the young couple stopped behind me on their motorcycle. Both the husband and the wife asked me about my trouble with kind and caring words. The husband tried to start my motorcycle but failed. He asked me to put down the rear footrest. The wife repeated what her husband said. I understood their meaning. They would use the power of their motorcycle to push my motorcycle's footrest forward.
At that moment, I noticed that they didn't have an umbrella or a raincoat. They were at least 5 kilometers away from their home, while I was only 2 kilometers from mine. But they insisted that I put down the rear footrest and pushed me back home. I tried to persuade them to stay and take shelter from the rain, thinking of giving them two bottles of perfume when they stopped. But I failed. They said they still had a long way to go back to Magalang, so they couldn't delay. Then I could only watch them leave in the heavy rain.
Today is the first day of September. I'm very grateful to God for letting me meet this respectable couple. I also wish everyone could get help in times of trouble and thank every person who helps others in times of trouble.
God bless you. Amen. |
