This is a set of works created by Silke Lapina in March this year: "Why So", including this lamp and the mirror.

In "Why So", Hilk Lapina explores the themes of faith, doubt and tenacity. Lapina was born between the Philippines and Germany. She has always been interested in the complex relationship between faith and culture.

Her creative practice stems from numerous visits to monasteries and long-term meditation training. Her works explore the connotations of spiritual and personal beliefs.

The title of this song is taken from a folk song by Jesa Zaragoza. Thus, "Why Continue" is no longer merely a song; it has transformed into a reflection on the spiritual level, as the exhibition contrasts the song with the scripture.

Lapina prompts reflection through videos, hand-carved mirrors, and text-based works: a priest's face switching between gender, a neon love letter from a gay theologian shining on an acrylic cross, and mirrors engraved with words from Philippine literature and popular culture.
